Driving Vacation to the Southwest

In November of 2000 my wife, dog and I took a driving vacation to the Southwest  United States through Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.  We went in November because it was the only time I could get off from work.  To tell you the truth, we were a little worried about the weather.  Would it be snowing in Arizona?  Growing up in Houston, TX doesn't give you a lot of practice driving in the slippery stuff!  As it turned out, November was a great time to go.  Since kids were in school we totally avoided the crowds.  As a matter of fact, at times it seemed as if we had Carlsbad Caverns to ourselves!
